오클랜드 노스쇼어의 한국어 진료 가능 물리치료·발 전문(Podiatry) 클리닉 ‘트윈즈 피지오(Twins Physio & Podiatry)‘입니다. 1995년 여덟 살에 한국에서 이민 와 노스쇼어에서 자란 쌍둥이 형제, 물리치료사 마이클 리(Michael Lee) 선생님과 근골격계 발 전문 치료사 라파엘 리(Raphael Lee) 선생님이 10여 년 전 문을 열었습니다. 진료진 모두 한국어가 가능해 증상과 치료 계획을 모국어로 편하게 상의할 수 있고, 물리치료사 한 분은 일본어도 가능합니다.

목·어깨·허리·무릎·발목 통증, 스포츠 부상, 인대·힘줄·근육 손상, 직장 내 반복 부상, 자세 교정, 낙상 후 관리, 수술이나 골절 후 재활까지 폭넓게 진료합니다. 발 전문 진료로는 족저근막염(발뒤꿈치 통증), 아킬레스건 통증, 발목 염좌, 청소년기 무릎 통증(오스굿슐라터병), 내향성 발톱 시술을 다루며, 원장님이 알려주신 진료 항목에는 사마귀·티눈 관리도 포함됩니다. 만성 힘줄·연부조직 손상에는 충격파 치료(Shockwave)를 사용하고, 재활 운동 교육과 클리니컬 필라테스, 자세 교정 프로그램도 함께 운영합니다.

Twins Physio & Podiatry is a physiotherapy and musculoskeletal podiatry clinic on Auckland’s North Shore. The main rooms are at 194 Sunnynook Road in Totara Vale, with a second room in Takapuna at Level 2, 4 Fred Thomas Drive inside the MSK Institute clinic. It was started more than ten years ago by twin brothers Michael Lee, a physiotherapist, and Raphael Lee, a musculoskeletal podiatrist. The brothers moved from Korea to Auckland in 1995 as eight year olds and grew up on the Shore, and the clinic states it now has more than fifteen years of experience behind it. Joo Youn Park and Nathan Cho round out the physiotherapy team.

On the physio side the team sees neck, shoulder, back, knee and ankle pain, sports injuries, ligament, tendon and muscle strains, workplace strain, poor posture, falls, and rehabilitation after surgery or a fracture. The podiatry side covers foot, ankle and knee problems, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon pain, ankle sprains, Osgood-Schlatter disease in teenagers, and ingrown toenail treatment with a minimally invasive procedure. Shockwave therapy is offered for long-running tendon and soft tissue problems such as heel pain, Achilles trouble, jumper’s knee, tennis or golfer’s elbow and shoulder tendon issues, and the clinic also runs clinical Pilates, postural correction and rehab exercise programmes.

This is an ACC registered clinic and it states that no GP referral is needed, so you can book directly. Mention it when you book if your pain came from an accident, so an ACC claim can be discussed. Home visits and telehealth appointments are both available. For Korean speakers, the clinic states that all of its physiotherapists and podiatrists speak English and Korean fluently, so you can go through symptoms, diagnosis and your exercise plan in your own language.
