Daehan Taekwondo trains in a full-time gym in the Silverdale industrial area, having started out in Orewa and outgrown it. The club is named after its founder, Grand Master Yeom from Ganghwa-do in Korea, and is run by a mix of Korean and New Zealand instructors, which makes it an easy fit whether or not your family speaks Korean.
Classes take children from around age four through to adults, following the usual coloured-belt grading path. With more than 500 registered members it is one of the larger Korean-run dojangs north of Auckland city.
